How much water should you drink a day
How much water do you need to drink?
Everyone is always looking for that special supplement, shake or herb that will help with weight loss, improve health, decrease fatigue, make your skin glow and help with digestion and detoxification.
The truth is water will dramatically help with all of those things. Yet so many people don’t drink enough water. And they feel (and function) like crap because of it.
We’re constantly getting depleted of water by sweating and going to the bathroom. But far too many people don’t make an effort to replenish themselves.
Water plays a major role in our health and ability to function optimally. The majority of our of body is made of water (brain, blood, muscles, lean tissues, etc).
Symptoms of dehydration:
Fatigue and weakness
Dizziness and nausea
Dry mucous membranes (mouth, nose, eyes)
Here is how much water you should drink each day so you can be a lean, strong, fast, food and nutrient-digesting ninja that is full of energy with glowing skin….
Sedentary individuals drink at least 2L or about 8 cups of water per day
Athletes/Active people in normal climates drink at least 3L or about 12 cups of water per day.
Athletes/active people in hot weather climates drink at least 4L or about 16 cups of water per day
**Notice I said *cups, not glasses. 1 cup yields 8oz of water. So sedentary people should aim to consume approximately 64oz of water each day (increase that if you live in a hotter climate like FL that causes you to sweat more).
How do you get this done?
Do the math and determine how much water you should drink each day.
Then buy a water bottle the requires you to fill it up only a few times to meet your water goal. Buy one that you like.. Spend some money on it. It’s important.
Drink up! Keep the water bottle in your eye site at all times. On your desk, in your cup holder in your car, etc. Set an alarm to chug a few ounces every hour if you need to.
